A seizure is an abnormal paroxysmal period of neuronal discharge in the brain that can result in a variety of signs and symptoms dependent on the type and location of the abnormal firing. Symptoms can be heterogeneous from generalised tonic clonic movements to just staring look for few second. The epilepsy team at Indo American Hospital believes that we must have comprehensive outlook in treated of paediatric epilepsy. An accurate diagnosis must be made and an appropriate treatment strategy must be designed. This can only be done by understanding all of the other medical, psychological, social and educational issues that are involved. The child must thrive within the family, the school and the community.
