Dr. K. Bahuleyan did his MBBS from Govt. Medical College Madras in the year 1954 and did his FRCS (Edinburgh) and FRCS (Glasgow) in the year 1962 & 1964 from UK and he completed his MD from US. Dr. Bahuleyan was the first Neurosurgeon of the State of Kerala. He started as Asst. Professor of Neurological Surgery at Govt. Medical College, Trivandrum. He joined the Indian Defense Forces as its first Neurosurgeon in the year 1964. He later moved to Buffalo in New York State and worked as a Consultant Neurosurgeon and Asst. Professor of Neurosurgery till 1996. He started Indo American Hospital in the year 1998 and has been working as Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon and Professor Emeritus since then.
